Our team leveraged over 15 years of lean experiences in ambulatory care to develop eSynchrony, an electronic whiteboard tailored to transform clinics. This user-friendly and highly customizable board enhances patient flow through quick 'at-a-glance' tracking, engages both providers and staff, and improves efficiencies with real-time data feedback. Since its introduction in 2016, eSynchrony has been adopted by numerous healthcare organizations across 35 specialties. Along the way, front line users have suggested features that have become part of the eSynchrony architecture.
Scott E. Vanvalin, MD and Benjamin G. Escott, MD trialed eSynchrony in their clinics. Based on the successes, the system has now been expanded to 35 ambulatory care specialties.
Kimberly Stepien, MD and Yasmin Bradfield, MD piloted the system in their practices. Based on their successes, it has since expanded to cover all the ophthalmology subspecialties at the existing and new sites.
Melissa Matlan Roberts, MSN, RN, Service Line Director, Organ Donation and Transplant Services lead the implementation of the system in the newly redesigned Transplant Clinic when it opened in 2022. The clinic uses eSynchrony on a daily basis to serve their patients.
Children's Wisconsin significantly expanded eSynchrony tracker boards in 2020 to improve clinic flow and space utilization for 35 specialties. Our solution continues to assist the clinics in reducing patient wait times and dramatically improving the efficiencies.
The University of Wisconsin - Madison, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences providers have been frequent speakers at the American Academy of Ophthalmology to share their experiences with eSynchrony.
